If payment is not received by the 15th, a penalty amount of 10% will be assessed. If there is no payment on the account by the last working day of the month, the utility services may be disconnected until the past due amount is paid. A $25.00 reconnect fee per meter disconnected will be charged.
The City of Hugoton is not governed by the Kansas Corporation Commission's shutoff rules.
The City requires a deposit to secure payment prior to service on all new accounts. After twelve consecutive months of payments with no penalties, the deposit is credited to the customer's account.
