PARKS AND RECREATION
The City of Hugoton maintains many avenues of recreation for our community, including several parks, a municipal golf course, and an outdoor swimming facility.
There are three parks within the city limits, with City Park
located at Third and Main. 
This is the largest park with facilities for picnics
and barbecues, public restrooms, as well as a large playground area with newly
added equipment for the children. Many family and class reunions have taken
place here over the years.
Everett Rowden Park is nestled into a residential area at Tenth
and West City Limits. This park also includes a picnic shelter with
barbecue
grills and 
plenty of open room for a game of
Frisbee or tag. Playground
equipment includes a basketball court and the old-fashioned merry-go-round and
some swings. This park was dedicated to Everett Rowden, a former City
Superintendent, in 1987.
Smith Pioneer Park is located at Eighth and Main and provides a
welcoming atmosphere with a central 
gazebo and sitting benches for those who
enjoy the serenity of nature. The gazebo has been used in the past as the stage
for a summer wedding. This park was donated by Aldora (Smith) Parsons and
family, the previous resident of this lot.

Hugoton Municipal Golf Course
The golf course is located
approximately two miles west of Hugoton on U.S. 56. The nine-hole course 
consists
of lush bluegrass fairways, grass greens and a few sand traps. A driving range is
situated just east of the first hole.
The course is open from daylight to dark, 365 days a year, weather permitting.
A new clubhouse was erected in 1999 at the entrance of the golf course. The majority of the construction took place with a group of volunteers and avid golfers. The new building offers golfers a chance to relax in comfort with refreshments, television, and reading material as well as numerous items for sale in the pro shop. Trimmed with oak and brass, the clubhouse is a first-class facility.
A banquet room with a kitchen area is available to members for men and women's night barbecues and special occasions.

Memberships are due by May 1st of each year. The family membership applies only to immediate family members. Membership fees may be paid at the City of Hugoton offices at 631 S. Main.
CART SPACE RENTAL FEES
Annual Cart Space Rental $250.00-Private Shed
Annual rental fees are due by August 1st of each year. These may be paid at the City of Hugoton offices also.
RULES
Please repair all ball marks on greens. Repair
fairway divots. 
Please keep all pull carts and riding carts off tee boxes,
fringe, and greens. Riding carts must use concrete cart paths when available at
greens and tee boxes. Do not use old cart paths. Drive on fairway. Obey cart
signs.
LOCAL RULES
Cart Paths: When ball is on, or swing or stance is affected by a cart path, free drop within one club length of the nearest point of relief no closer to the hole.
Ball may be dropped away from benches, water fountains, water control boxes, trash containers and trees that are flagged. Two club lengths from the nearest point of relief no closer to the hole.
Out of Bounds: Any fence bordering course, parking area, white stakes behind #9 green, white stakes right of #3 fairway, white stakes right of #5 fairway, and white stakes right #9 fairway. Penalty: stroke and distance.
Water hole on #9 played as hazard. Other water is casual water.
ALL PLAY WILL BE GOVERNED BY U.S.G.A. RULES FOR STROKE PLAY, EXCEPT WHEN LOCAL RULES SUPERSEDE.
